PURPOSE: To effectively uniformly process at each page or line and to improve a printing image by referring the pixel of a non-image region as an image signal of a non-recording pixel if the pixel of the non-image region exists in the pixel of a predetermined range being referred to process a printing pixel.
CONSTITUTION: When an image is processed at its (leading, trailing, left or light) end, data of non-image region is contained in a referring data input to a comparison discriminator 10. In order to handle the data of the non-image part as 'white', AND gates 31 - 33 are used. 'White' data are written in line memories 6 - 8 at the timings of the non-image region before the leading end of the image after the trailing end of the image. Since 'white' data are input to the comparison discriminator 10 at the timings left from the left end of the image and right from the right end of the image, a process with the data of the non-image region as 'white' is conducted. Thus, the data of the non- image region does not become unstable, a noted pixel can be suitably processed.
