PURPOSE: To enable the accomplishing of an accurate deletion by a method wherein a drive source is driven by a fixed value to the side of feeding a recording sheet reversely and then, done by the same value to the side of feeding the recording sheet normally when a conveying rotor is turned by a manual operation to convey the recording sheet.

CONSTITUTION: When any erroneous printing exists among pintings, a ribbon cassette for deletion is loaded while a keyboard K is operated to delete. In the case of a manual deletion, a plate knob 9 is operated manually to reverse a recording paper 1 so than the erroneous printing on the recording sheet 1 moves to a position opposed to a hammer 6i. Here, a hysteresis existing in frames 7a and 7b is different from than when the printing involved was made. Therefore, a conveying motor 4 is driven reversely by a fixed pulse portion and then, is 4 is driven normally by the same value. At this point, the frames 7a and 7b regains hysteresis, which is the same as that during the printing. As a result, the erroneous printing of the recording sheet 1 reaches a position of deletion accurately. Such an operation of deletion enables the deleting of the erroneous printing accurately.
