PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for production of absorptive articles which is capable of easily and simply producing the absorptive article provided with three-dimensional guards respectively on both right and left sides on a front surface sheet side and the front and rear thereof.
SOLUTION: This process for producing the absorptive articles executes a combined sheet material continuous body forming stage S1 for forming a ladder-like combined sheet material continuous body 161d combined with respective sheet materials by installing continuous bodies 161c of third sheet materials for forming the three-dimensional guards on both end sides to the continuous bodies 161a and 161b of the first and second sheet materials for forming the three-dimensional guards on both right and left sides while transporting these continuous bodies respectively in parallel, a main body continuous body forming stage S2 for forming the continuous body 110 of the main body by interposing an absorber 4 between the continuous body 103 of the leakproof sheet and the continuous body 102 of the front surface sheet, and an arranging and cutting stage S3 for obtaining the discrete absorptive articles by disposing the combined sheet material continuous body 161 in the prescribed position of the continuous body 110 of the main body and cutting the same in the prescribed position.
