The recording adapter is connected between a fixed telephone and a personal computer, and used for recording the content of a speech. In the recording adapter, a speech signal is filtered by a bandpass filter BPF to produce a frequency signal of a fixed band suitable for sound recording, and the frequency signal is amplified by an amplifier circuit AMP fed with power from the personal computer, before being output as a recording signal. The level of the recording signal output from the amplifier circuit AMP is adjusted by a level adjustment circuit LC. The recording adapter also includes an electret microphone ECM outputting a sidetone signal.
