Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user does not have information on compatibility of a photo-direct printer with a digital camera because the photo-direct printer adaptable to digital cameras manufactured by various manufacturers is provided with some functional information, which is not supported by an exchanging means, among a variety of information possessed by the camera and the printer.
SOLUTION: A notification of a change in the function of the printer is given to a DSC from the printer by using a capability Changed tag (S31). When an inquiry about details of changed capability is not made from the DSC in response to the notification, the printer determines that the DSC has no function adapting to the capability Changed tag (S33), performs disconnection and reconnection of a USB (S34), and notifies the DSC of the latest capability of the printer.
