To provide a recording apparatus which achieves a better recording position accuracy and capable of performing high-grade recording.
The recording apparatus comprises in which a first correction value which is used for correcting a carriage position prepared in light of the ink-discharging property of a recording head, carriage acceleration, a distance between an ink discharge face of the recording head and a recording medium and the like and a second correction value which is used for correcting ink discharge timing are previously stored. In actual recording operation, the carriage position is detected while moving the carriage mounted the recording head. Next, the detected carriage position is corrected by the first correction value, and a timing trigger which is discharged the ink from the recording head is generated based on the corrected carriage position. Furthermore, the generated timing trigger is corrected by the second correction value, and the recording is performed by discharging the ink from the recording head based on the corrected timing trigger.
