To provide a recording apparatus wherein a gas in a recording head can be removed.
The recording apparatus includes: an ink reservoir; a recording head with an ink inflow path 105, an ink discharge path 106, and a nozzle 101; an ink supply path; an ink circulating path; and a pumping means for circulating an ink between the ink reservoir and the recording head. The inside of the recording head is divided by a first filter 107 into a first liquid chamber 102 connecting to the ink inflow path 105 and a second liquid chamber 103 contacting a face arranged with the nozzle 101. A second filter 108 positioned more away from the face arranged with the nozzle 101 than the first filter 107 is connected with the second liquid chamber 103. There are provided a first foam release path 109 for circulating a part of an ink from the ink reservoir to the ink reservoir without interposing the second liquid chamber 103, and a second foam release path 110 connected from the second liquid chamber 103 to the ink discharge path 106 via second filter 108.
