Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus in which, when a failure occurs in a transportation system for a recording medium, the failure hardly interferes with a recording processing part.SOLUTION: The recording apparatus includes: a medium supporting part for supporting the elongated recording medium; the recording processing part for applying recording processing with respect to the recording medium supported by the medium supporting part; a recording processing part transportation system for moving the recording processing part; the medium transportation system including a first drive roller, a first drive motor, a second drive roller, and a second drive motor; and a controller for controlling this recording apparatus. When a prescribed failure occurs in the medium transportation system during a period in which the recording processing part runs recording processing to the recording medium while being moved by the recording processing part transportation system above the recording medium for scanning, the controller controls the recording processing part to retreat to a region outside the medium supporting part while maintaining a moving direction of the recording processing part at the time of the failure occurrence.
