Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus that can shorten a time for recording operation and a time for calibration more than a conventional configuration, in the recording apparatus using a serial type recording head.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus (20): performs recording on a recording medium by using a recording head (2) having recording element array (11) with two or more recording elements (12) arrayed along a conveying direction of the recording medium; and includes detection means (10) for detecting the recording medium. The detection means (10) is arranged in a position having at least a portion contained in a region in an extension plane in the conveying direction of a surface having the recording elements (12) of the recording head (2) and in a position different from the region in the extension plane, in a surface in a main scanning direction crossing the conveying direction.
