Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus achieving miniaturization or the like and capable of effectively utilizing an ink ribbon by making a part occupied by a region other than an ink region as small as possible.
SOLUTION: An ink ribbon IR used in a recording apparatus 1 is equipped with a plurality of color ink regions successively and also equipped with detection marks at the boundaries of respective color ink regions and the ribbon is fed out toward a recording head HD. The recording head HD mounted on a carriage CA applies recording to a medium P1 to be recorded through the ink ribbon IR. A sensor SE detects not only the detection marks at the boundaries of the ink regions and the terminal mark showing the ribbon end but also the cyan color in a plurality of colors.
