PURPOSE: To provide a recording apparatus which avoids the enlargement of an apparatus and prevents the contact between fed paper and discharged paper.

CONSTITUTION: In a recording apparatus which is fed with continuous recording paper 8 and records over a plurality of pages continuously, a feeding port 23 for feeding the continuous recording paper is opened in the back part of the apparatus, a paper width guide member 18 for regulating the width of the paper to be fed to the port 23 is fitted adjustably in the width direction to the back part of the apparatus, and the cover 15 of the apparatus is held in the posture of a discharged paper guide by the guide member 18. A holding means 16 for holding the cover in the posture of the discharged paper guide is provided at a prescribed position of the cover 15 with which the guide member 18 is brought into contact.
