Abstract:
To provide a recording device capable of properly recovering with respect to a discharge port having discharge failure.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: recording means with a discharge port surface in which a plurality of discharge ports are formed for discharging liquid; wiping means having an opening capable of abutting on the discharge port surface, in order to wipe the discharge port surface by moving in a predetermined direction while abutting the opening on the discharge port surface; decompression means for actuating negative pressure on the discharge port surface through the opening; detection means for detecting a discharge state of the plurality of discharge ports; and controlling means for performing suction operation of suctioning liquid from the plurality of discharge ports while moving the wiping means, after driving the decompression means in a state that the opening abuts on the discharge port surface. The controlling means executes the suction operation in a first discharge port having been detected to have discharge failure according to the detection means, at a suction condition different from that of a discharge port excluding the first discharge port.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
