PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving throughput as a whole in accordance with the proceeding of analysis of a margin amount.SOLUTION: A recording device includes feeding means, conveyance means, recording means which performs recording onto a recording medium conveyed by the conveyance means and control means. The control means includes conveyance control means for executing overlapping continuous transmission which clamps and conveys an overlapped part of a rear edge part of a precedent recording medium and a tip part of a subsequent recording medium with a roller pair of the conveyance means, analysis means which analyzes a margin amount of the tip side of the subsequent recording medium based on recording data of the subsequent recording medium and standby determination means which determines whether to stand by for processing concerning execution of the overlapping continuous transmission up to analysis completion or advance the processing without waiting the analysis completion based on an estimated duration of time until an analysis of the analysis means is completed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
