Abstract:
To solve such a problem that determination of a discharge condition needs a long time when a recording head is equipped with many nozzles, when it is needed to carry out the discharge condition determination repeatedly several times and the like.SOLUTION: There is provided a recording apparatus carrying out recording on the recording media using a recording head equipped with plural nozzles discharging an ink, plural heaters provided to the nozzles to heat the ink, and plural temperature detection elements provided corresponding to each heater. In addition, the recording head is equipped with an inspection part inspecting the ink discharge condition of each nozzle. The apparatus carries out the following determination processing of the discharge condition: dividing plural heaters into plural groups physically adjacent to each other; selecting one nozzle to be a target for inspecting the ink discharge condition; setting the threshold value for inspecting the selected nozzle to make the recording head inspect the ink discharge condition; and then storing in a memory, a determination result obtained by inspection of the ink discharge condition regarding the selected nozzle using the above threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
