To supply an appropriate amount of a liquid to a recording head.SOLUTION: A recording device includes a recording head for discharging a liquid, a storage part for storing a liquid supplied to the recording head, a supply flow channel for supplying the liquid to the recording head from the storage part, a recovery flow channel for recovering a liquid to the storage part from the recording head, circulation means for circulating the liquid on a circulation flow channel composed of the storage part, the supply flow channel, the recording head and the recovery flow channel, first detection means for detecting a flow rate in the recovery flow channel, and control means for controlling driving of the circulation means based on a flow rate detected by the first detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
