This recording device 100 has a pair of conveying rollers 180 for conveying paper P to a recording area 202 of recording heads 164, 165 along a platen 140 while energizing it to the platen 140, a pair of discharge rollers 150 for nipping and discharging the paper P passing through the recording area 202, and a recording control part 200 for completing the recording of the paper P into a chip portion P1 by the recording heads 164, 165 until the pair of conveying rollers 180 feed the chip of the paper by a distance D shorter than a length L1 in the conveying direction of the recording area 202 from an upstream end in the conveying direction of the recording area 202 and longer than a distance L2 from a downstream end in the conveying direction of the recording area 202 to nips 206 of the pair of discharge rollers 150, and starting to record the paper P into a following portion P2 by the recording heads 164, 165 after the pair of conveying rollers 180 feed the chips of the paper P to the nips 206.
