Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain stable and irregularity-free ink jets by solving reliability problems including clogging, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A rotating roller 5 immersed in an ink tank 1 forms an ink layer 3 on the surface thereof. Any surplus ink is scraped from the ink layer 3 by a blade 4 to form an ink layer 6 of a substantially uniform thickness 6. A heating element 8 provided in a heating element base 7 contacts the ink layer 6. A signal pulse is inputted to the heating element 8 in accordance with image information, and then bubbles are generated in the ink, causing some of the ink layer 6 to fly and to be recorded on paper 10. The heating element base 7 has multiple rows of heating elements that can be driven separately.
