Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of accurately calculating registration adjustment values of a thickness-known recording medium and a thickness-unknown recording medium and improving a landing position precision without using a sensor that can measure a magnitude of a GAP.SOLUTION: A registration adjustment value for a case where a thickness of a recording medium at a time of registration adjustment is known and a registration adjustment value for a case where the thickness thereof is unknown are separately stored, and the registration adjustment value to be used is changed depending on whether the thickness of the recording medium for use in printing is known or not during the printing. If the thickness is unknown, then a user is caused to directly input the thickness or the user is caused to input a probable type of the recording medium, and an estimated value of the thickness according to the type is applied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
