To provide a recording device capable of performing discharging processing even when the distance between a medium and a medium is made narrow for improvement in throughput.
The recording device has, as a discharging conveyance means of discharging a medium, a first intermediate discharge roller close to an image formation section, a second intermediate discharge roller located downstream therefrom, and a final discharge roller discharging the medium to a discharge stacker; and the first intermediate discharge roller and image formation section have the same conveying speed, and the second intermediate discharge roller and final discharge roller have a conveying speed faster than the first intermediate discharge roller. The medium, on reaching the second intermediate discharge roller, is conveyed fast to form a gap between the medium itself and a next medium. Then discharging processing is carried out for the medium before the gap is eliminated.
