PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the clogging of a nozzle sufficiently by mounting an impregnated member, in which a mechanism section for wiping off the nozzle is impregnated with a complex forming reagent.

CONSTITUTION: A mechanism section 41 for wiping off a nozzle is installed while being adjoined to a platen 25 and being oppositely faced to a recording head 21, and sponge 42 as an impregnated member impregnated with a complex forming reagent is set up to the mechanism section 41. A compound having both a carboxylic group and an amino group is used as the complex forming reagent. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA) is employed. The sponge 42 impregnated with the EDTA reacts with insoluble metallic salt such as calcium, magnesium, etc., being brought into contact with the surface of the nozzle of the recording head 21 before printing and precipitating on the surface of the nozzle, and a complex is formed and melted.
