Abstract:
PURPOSE:To minimize deformation and expansion/shrinkage of an electric wire to be minute and hence to prevent a harmful influence on a magnetic head positioning accuracy by composing a means to follow up the movement of a sub-slider by a positional detecting signal for an air slider which is mounted with a recording head. CONSTITUTION:A linear motor 54 for generating a drive force in non-contact with a magnetic circuit 55 is fixed, and the air slider 52 mounted with the recording head 43 is movable by non-contacting with a rail 55. By a signal of a position detector 14 for measuring a relative positional change generated by the movement of the motor 54, the sub-slider 13 is moved on a rail 11 so that the relative position between the sub-slider 13 and the linear motor 54 becomes nearly constant. Since a high pressure air pipe and the electric wire 12 which are connected between the slider 13 and the linear motor 54, are limited to a minute range of deformation and expansion/shrinkage, the positioning accuracy of the recording head 43 is never influenced to be deteriorated.
