PURPOSE: To provide a recording head fitting device which enables easy and accurate adjustment of the position of a recording head, by a construction wherein the position of a recording head is adjusted and the head is supported by eccentric pins and fixed plates.

CONSTITUTION: When adjusting the position of the recording head 21, fixing screws 32a, 32b are first turned in the direction for untightening. As the screws 32a, 32b are turned, teeth 35 of the fixed plates 31a, 31b are disengaged from teeth of gear parts 26 of the eccentric pins 24a, 24b, resulting in that the pins can be turned. By turning the pins 24a, 24b, it is possible to adjust the forward- backward position and the inclination of the recording head 21. While actually recording by the head 21, the turning angle of the pins 24a, 24b is so adjusted as to obtain the maximum recorded density. After the maximum recorded density is obtained, the screws 32a, 32b are tightened by turning.
