PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the infiltration properties of a cutter blade for a recording medium by forming the small angle out of the angles formed by a cutter blade side face facing the carrying direction with the recording medium into the angle smaller than the specified angle at the time of starting the cutting.
SOLUTION: A recording paper 29 is pressed from above and guided down obliquely by a bending guide section 46. When the recording paper 29 is cut, a section in the vicinity of a cutter blade is clamped between a platen 29 and a press member 44 and guided by the bending guide section 46. As a result, the section of the recording paper 29 forming the vicinity of the cutter blade 42 is guided on the given position at all times. When the recording paper 29 is guided onto the given position, the position relation among the cutter blade 42, the platen 29 the press member 44 and the bending guide section 46 are adjusted so that the smaller angle θ is set at the angle smaller than 90°, preferably in the range of 25° or larger to 65° or smaller out of the angles formed by a side face 42a of the cutter blade 42 facing in the carrying direction and the recording medium 29.
