To eliminate the need for making the moving quantity of a recording head large as well as an increase of the moving quantity of a disk is hetetofore resulted when a cartridge is moved from a standby position to a drive position.
When a cam gear 30 is rotated, a supporting piece 12b supported by a cam groove 33 on the inside surface of a cam gear 30 is forced to be downwardly moved. A holder 12 can therefore be turned around a projecting part 21c of a side (X1) side provided with the shutter of the cartridge K as a fulcrum for turning. In such a case, the moving quantity of the disk D may be made smaller because the radius of turning of the projecting part 21c and the aperture K2 of the cartridge K are set small. The moving quantity of the recording head disposed at a head unit 70 may therefore be set smaller.
