Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium feed unit which can achieve both operability of a width-direction positioning member and a skew suppressing effect of a recording medium owing to adjustability of the dynamic load of the width-direction positioning member.SOLUTION: A stack tray 35 (recording medium feed unit) includes a sheet loading plate 50, a width-direction positioning member 51 for positioning a sheet in the width direction, a rack 53 which moves, integrally with the width-direction positioning member 51, in the width direction, a pinion 54 which is engaged with the rack 53 and rotates with the moving rack 53 and an adjustment pin 55 which adjusts the rotation load of the pinion 54 by rotating about an axis extending in the thickness direction of the sheet loading plate 50 so as to move in the thickness direction of the sheet loading plate 50.
