Title:
RECORDING MEDIUM AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD USING THE MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3604764
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a recording medium capable of forming a high-definition image comparable to a silver print by providing a coated layer containing a pigment, a binder and a cationic substance as main components, and acetylenic alcohol, and glossing the surface thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A recording medium is manufactured by providing a coated layer containing a pigment, a binder and a cationic substance as main ingredients, and acetylenic glycol, acetylenic alcohol and one or more of their derivatives on a base material, and glossing the surface. In such a case, the preferable 75° relative specular glossiness of the surface is 30% or over. Recording and image formation are made by jetting droplets of each of cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink from the orifice of a recording head and making them adhere to a recording medium. Use of the recording medium permits the formation of a high optical density, high-quality and high-definition image.
