Title:
RECORDING MEDIUM FOR INK JET PRINTER AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001039015
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To form a highly minute image and to obtain a texture and touch of paper by incorporating a finely fibrillated cellulose in an ink receiving layer provided on a surface layer of a recording medium for an ink jet printer.

In order to obtain a recording medium 10 for an ink jet printer which can suppress feathering of an aqueous ink to be impregnated in an ink receiving layer 12, obtains a texture of paper and has a high color developing density, a finely fibrillated cellulose (hereinafter referred to as MFC) is contained in the layer 12 provided on a front layer of a base material 11. Or, a cationic substance may be contained in the layer 12 having the FMC. When the MFC is contained in the layer 12 in this manner, the overall image quality can be improved, and a sense of quality and an aesthetic property like paper can be obtained. If the MFC is charged to a cation, an ink dye charged to an anion exhibits good fixability to the MFC, and hence image minuteness and water resistance can be improved.
