To provide a recording medium for ink jet which shows superior adhesive properties, and high waterproofness right after printing without the bleeding of an ink by an ink jet, in a plastic base material.
This recording medium for ink jet has an ink receptive layer component which is a poly(meth)acrylate copolymer composed mainly of a radical polymerizable monomer having methylmethacrylate, ethyl acrylate and a carboxy group. The acid value ranges from 50 to 80° and the glass transition point is 50-70°C as a physical property. In addition, a crystalline cellulose for improving the ink absorption is contained in the ink receptive layer. A support is of a plastic material, on one of the faces of which the ink receptive layer is formed and, on the opposite side face of the ink receptive layer, a viscous layer is formed.
