PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for the magnetic recording means to be exclusively used and to make the entire part of the device simpler and smaller by integrally providing a recording part for images, etc., and a magnetic material which can record the information on the images, etc., by irradiation with a laser beam.
CONSTITUTION: The thermosensitive recording material 10 integrally has the recording part 12 and the magnetic tape part 14. The recording part 12 is formed with a recording medium layer contg. color forming agents, color developers and light absorptive dyestuff on a base 16. The magnetic tape part 14 has the powdery ferromagnetic material 18 uniformly dispersed at one corner of the base 16. The material 10 is sub- scanned and transported in an arrow B direction and the gradation images are recorded thereon by a laser beam L. The desired part of the ferromagnetic material 18 is then irradiated with the beam L when the tape part 14 is transported to the position corresponding to a permanent magnet 52 constituting a magnetizing means 22. This part is then heated to the Curie temp. or above and the desired ancillary information, etc., are recorded in the tape 14 part. As a result, there is no need for discretely preparing magnetic cards, etc., and the maintenance and management are facilitated.
