To effectively prevent the occurrence of illegal use at the time of executing accounting through an on-line by using a recording medium forming a charging information recording area for successively and additionally recording charging information in a postscript type recording area for the accounting.
A postscript area which is a part of a disk (CD-R) 1 to be a recording medium capable of recording (adding) data is set up as a charging information recording area and charging information is recorded in the area. Namely the CD-R 1 setting up the charging information recording area is rotated by a spindle motor 2 and data are reproduced/recorded from/in respective tracks by an optical pickup 3. A signal reproduced from the CD-R 1 by the pickup 3 is demodulated by a demodulating processing part 4 and reproduced data are extracted by a reproduced data processing part 5. Since the erasing of information written in the postscript type recording area is physically impossible, the occurrence of illegal use can be prevented.
