A microcomputer 4 realizes the following functions together with other parts by the action of software stored in a ROM or the like not shown in the figure. (1) A user is made to select in advance the data form of the sound data to be reproduced, and in the case that the sound data of the selected data form exist in a supplied recording medium, the sound data of the data form are reproduced. (2) In the case that the sound data of the selected data form do not exist in the supplied recording medium, the sound data of the data form recorded in the recording medium are reproduced.
