To solve a problem wherein it is difficult to pull out a recording paper depending on paper quality because the recording paper is directly wound around a slider of a winding shaft.

In this recording medium winding device 20 having the winding shaft 21 for winding a long recording paper 4, the winding shaft 21 has a recording medium movable receiving part 21a acting as a part of the winding shaft 21 when winding the recording paper 4 and movable between a first position P1 for supporting and winding the recording paper 4 and a second position P2 for facilitating pulling of the recording paper 4 out of the winding shaft 21 without supporting the recording paper 4. When the recording medium movable receiving part 21a moves from the first position P1 to the second position P2, it moves in only direction crossing the winding shaft 21 orthogonally. A clearance t occurs between the recording paper 4 and the second position P2 by inclining the recording medium movable receiving part 21a at the second position P2. The recording paper 4 can be easily pulled out in this condition. Since the recording paper 4 is not directly wound around an engaging member of the winding shaft 21, it is not affected by paper quality of the recording paper.
