Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the generation of a reusable format to be secondarily worked which is not permitted by a former even in a private record of video/sound signals. SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing device is provided with a file conversion inhibition selecting switch 104 for selecting rejection against the conversion of information to be recorded/reproduced by a digital recording/reproducing means 106 into a prescribed file format and the use of the converted information and a file conversion inhibition signal adding means 105 for adding a file conversion inhibition signal to the information to be recorded/reproduced in accordance with the selected state of the switch. In this case, whether the information to be recorded/reproduced is converted into a file conversion inhibition signal or not is selected by the switch 104, and at the time of selecting the inhibition of file conversion, an operator can determine whether the conversion of the information into the prescribed file format is to be admitted or not by his (or her) own will by adding the file conversion inhibition signal.
