PURPOSE: To simplify a device mechanism and to reduce its size, and to record and read an image independently by coupling an image recording part with an image reading part by a light shielding coupling means in a free swivel state, and inhibiting the image reading part itself from swiveling.
CONSTITUTION: Memory type fluorescent material sheet 9 on the 1st stacking means 16 are carried successively in a sheet holding part 10 at optional desired points of time for photography and then stacked on the 2nd stacking means 17. Then, a swivel head 2 is returned to a horizontal position and the fluorescent material sheets 9 on the 2nd stacking means 17 are carried to the 3rd stacking means 34 of the image reading part 30 and sent, sheet by sheet, to a reading means 32. when image information is read completely in the reading means 32, the memory type fluorescent material sheets 9 are sent to an erasing means 33 and conveyed onto a sheet supply means 54 after residual image information is erased. The sheets 9 stacked successively on the supply means 54 are conveyed to the 1st stacking means 16 by a necessary number while the swivel head 2 is held horizontal. Said operations are repeated to record and read radiation images independently, thereby reducing the size of the device.
