To allow a user to easily understand that a scene having been recorded just now records from which video up to which video image when the user conducts recording review (rec review) after the recording in a camera video recorder.

When a user depresses a trigger button 6, a video photographed by a camera 1 and processed is recorded on a magnetic tape 10 via a head 9 and a memory 4 stores the video at the start of recording. When the user again depresses the trigger button 6, the recording is finished and the memory 4 stores the video at the end of recording. When the user depresses a rec review button 11, the video at the start of recording and the video at the end of recording are read from the memory 4 and displayed on a viewfinder 3.
