Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a tuning period by eliminating the need to wait test pattern reception in all latch timing.SOLUTION: A recording and reproducing device includes: communication means which transmits an instruction to a recording medium and receives data transmitted from the recording medium in response to a timing signal obtained by delaying a clock signal; and control means which controls the communication means in such a manner that a first instruction to transmit pattern data for adjusting a delay amount of the timing signal and a second instruction to transmit shorter data are transmitted to the recording medium, and adjusts the delay amount of the timing signal on the basis of whether the pattern data received by the communication means in response to the timing signal have a predetermined data stream. In the case where the communication means cannot rightly receive data transmitted from the recording medium in accordance with the second instruction, the control means controls the communication means in such a manner that the first instruction is not transmitted according to the association with the timing signal of a delay amount in that case.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
