Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the compatibility, of plural kinds of optical recording media different from each other in format and to miniaturize the device by moving a base body of the optical recording media in the direction of radius.
SOLUTION: This optical pickup 5 is provided in the device and a base body 8 holding biaxial actuators is moved by a transfer mechanism 9 in the radius direction of an optical recording medium 4. The biaxial actuators 12, 15 are arranged on the upper face side of the base body 8 in the direction where objective lenses 11, 14 holded thereby are arranged proximately to each other, and the objective lenses 11, 14 are positioned so as to be directly above a beam splitters 17, 20 of the optical blocks 10, 13. The biaxial actuator 15 for DVD is positioned in the base body 8 so that the held objective lens 14 is moved oppositely to the radius of the optical recording medium 4 when the base body 8 is moved.
