PURPOSE: To provide the subject device capable of staggering the reservation time for succeding programs even though the time-lag such as extensions oc curred in the preceding program improving the reliability of time recording and facilitating the handling.

CONSTITUTION: The channel information, time execution start time, end time information or the like of the timer reservation program are recorded on a timer reservation information storage section 31. A 2nd comparison means performs channel selection at the point prior to the timer execution start time. A timer management CPU 21 performs channel selection to discriminate the broadcasting signal state (for example, audio multiplex) of the channel. When the timer execution start time comes, the broadcasting signal state is discriminated again, and when the state of the broadcasting signal is changed, the timer execution is started. The signal is not changed the former program is judged to be extended and the time required to change the state of the broadcasting signal is measured, thereby the timer execution start time and end time is corrected.
