Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing apparatus capable of displaying a frame at an identical position as a thumbnail image even when the moving image data is recorded in any manner of a compression format in which interframe prediction is made and a compression format in which interframe prediction is not made.SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing apparatus simultaneously records moving image data which are compressed in a first compression format in which all frames are encoded in an intraframe coding manner and in a second compression format in which all frames are encoded in an intraframe coding manner and interframe coding manner. The recording/reproducing apparatus outputs a frame positioned at the same position in the moving image data which are recorded simultaneously as a representative image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
