Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease a waveform deterioration and to lower the cost by recording a signal to a recording medium in FM modulation after passing the signal through a 1st phase shifter for making its low hand groups delay amt. larger than its high band group delay amt. and reproducing the signal after passing its demodulation signal processed in FM demodulation through a 2nd phase shifter for making its high band group delay amt. larger than its low band group delay amt. CONSTITUTION:The titled recording and reproducing device is for FM recording and reproducing operation for a VTR, etc., and constituted in such a manner that the signal is passed through the 1st phase shifter 2 for making it low band group delay amt. larger than its high band group delay amt. and processed in FM modulation and then recorded to the recording medium, whereas at the time of reproducing, the demodulation signal processed in FM demodulation is passed through the 2nd phase shifter 11 for making its high band group delay amt. larger than its low band group delay amt. By this method, the emphasized waveform is approximately symmetrical in its upper and lower sides, and the waveform deterioration due to clipping is decreased, and moreover a very low cost can be realized.
