PURPOSE: To provide a recording sheet having a fast drying time when image is formed by aqueous ink particularly in a method for ink jet printing and a method for printing by using it.

CONSTITUTION: The recording sheet comprises a substrate and an additive selected from the group consisting of monosaccharide, oligosaccharide and mixtures thereof. The method for printing comprises the steps of (a) providing the recording sheet comprising a substrate and an additive selected from the group consisting of monosaccharide, oligosaccharide and mixtures thereof, an optical binder, an optional antistatic agent, an optional biocide and an optional filler, (b) applying an aqueous recording liquid to the sheet in an imaginal pattern, and (c) thereafter exposing the substrate to the microwave radiation, thereby drying the liquid on the sheet.
