Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently recover a heavy metal from an aqueous soln. contg. the metal by bringing a polysaccharide having an amidoxime group into contact with the soln. to allow the metal to be adsorbed and by allowing the metal to be desorbed from the polysaccharide.

CONSTITUTION: A high molecular substance made of a polysaccharide having an amidoxime group is used as an adsorbent, and it is brought into contact with an aqueous soln. contg. a heavy metal such as sea water contg. uranium to allow the metal to be adsorbed. The adsorbent having the adsorbed heavy metal is brought into contact with an eluting soln. to allow the metal to be desorbed from the adsorbent. This adsorbent can recover the heavy metal, especially uranium at a high recovering rate, and it has high durability to the aqueous soln. contg. the heavy metal such as sea water and the eluting soln.
