Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a heat-resistant resin recovery method carried out by recovering bromine and/or antimony from a bromine-and/or antimony-containing heat-resistant resin and an apparatus therefor.
CONSTITUTION: A bromine-and/or antimony-containing heat-resistant resin 3 is thermally decomposed and the generated bromine-and/or antimony-containing gas (G) is reacted with a wash liquid 6 composed of an aqueous alkaline solution. Bromine and antimony are recovered respectively in the form of a compound from the reaction solution. The apparatus used in this method is equipped with a decomposition furnace 1 or a combustion furnace for thermally decomposing the bromine-and/or antimony- containing heat-resistant resin 3 and generating the gas (G) and with a gas-washing column 2 connected to the decomposition furnace 1 or the combustion furnace, packed with a packing 5 at the inner middle part above the connection opening part so as to tightly seal the inner middle part as if a coarse filter is set and capable of storing a wash liquid 6 in the bottom under the connection opening part, of recycling the wash liquid 6 to the above of the packing 5, of allowing the liquid to drop, of bringing the wash liquid 6 into contact with the gas (G) supplied from the decomposition furnace 1 or the combustion furnace on the packing 5 and of recovering bromine and antimony respectively in the form of a compound from the generated reaction solution.
