Abstract:
To provide a recovery method of aldehyde for easily and efficiently separating and recovering aldehyde and a rhodium complex catalyst from a reaction product in a hydroformylation reaction for producing aldehyde by a hydroformylation reaction of olefin in the presence of a rhodium complex catalyst.SOLUTION: A recovery method of aldehyde includes sequentially conducting the following processes (i)-(iv) to separate aldehyde and a hydroformylation catalyst from a mixture containing the saturated linear or saturated branched-chain aldehyde having a melting point of -5°C or higher, and the hydroformylation catalyst containing rhodium and an organic phosphorous compound. (i) Aromatic hydrocarbon and a poor solvent are added to the mixture. (ii) The mixture is heated to homogenize. (iii) The aldehyde is precipitated by cooling. (iv) The precipitated aldehyde is recovered.SELECTED DRAWING: None
