PURPOSE: To recover a slurry paint in high efficiency, by collecting oversprayed paint, adjusting the solid concentration either by filtration and concentration or by addition of water and redispersing the adjusted slurry paint by means of a dispersing machine composed of an upper grinder and a lower grinder rotating at high speed.
CONSTITUTION: Oversprayed paint is collected and the paint is filtered and concentrated when the water content is high, or charged with water when the water content is low, thereby to produce a paint having a concentration of solids of fine resin powder which is a constituent of the paint, of about 30W60wt%. Then, the adjusted paint slurry is redispersed by means of a substantially horizontally fixed dispersing machine composed of a fixed upper grinder 1 and a lower grinder 2 which rotates at a high speed of 1,000W5,000rpm, pref., 3,000W3,600rpm and having a clearance between grinders of 10W1,000 microns. A slurry paint which can be used as such or as an extender for slurry paints is recovered.
