Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square cloth spreading apparatus in which square cloth hardly comes off when held, and a driver can be reduced in size.SOLUTION: A spreading apparatus for spreading square cloth Y into a square shape includes traverse chucks 20R and 20L for drawing the square cloth Y therein while holding one side of the square cloth Y. The chuck parts of the traverse chucks 20R and 20L are openable and closable, and each include a pair of holding pieces 21 and 22 for holding a sheet Y with their holding surfaces brought into close contact therewith. To the front end of one holding piece 21 of the pair of holding pieces 21 and 22, there is attached a press-bending plate 25 extending in a direction intersecting the holding surfaces. When the square cloth Y is held by the pair of holding pieces 21 and 22, the press-bending plate 25 presses down the cloth near the front end of the lower holding piece 21, so that the point of application of tensile force is moved to a side lower than the holding surfaces. As a result, the tensile force is not directly applied to the holding surfaces, so that the held square cloth Y hardly comes off.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
