To provide a pyrolysis apparatus achieving stable pyrolysis and further facilitating scale-up in conversion of a carbonaceous resource into gas energy with high efficiency.
The rectangular shaft pyrolysis apparatus has a rectangular cross section of ≤1,300 mm length of the short side 21. The rectangular shaft pyrolysis apparatus is provided with ≥2 sites of blowing ports 23 for a high-temperature gas 18 for pyrolyzing the raw material in the direction of the residual long sides 22 at an interval of ≤1.4 times the length of the short side 21 and on the same horizontal cross section on one long side 22 in the moving-bed type rectangular shaft pyrolysis apparatus for drying/pyrolyzing the descending carbonaceous resource 1 charged into the furnace with the ascending high-temperature gas 18 and then discharging the dried/pyrolyzed carbonaceous resource as a carbonized material 12 from the lower part.
