To provide a recuperator for a heating furnace and the like, whose life is elongated, by restraining effectively the thermal damage of the air pipe connecting wall of a plenum chamber, severe in thermal condition, or an end plate.
In a recuperator, annexed to a heating furnace or the like and provided with a plurality of air ducts 6, passing through the inside of an exhaust gas pipe, as well as plenum chamber, bundling the air ducts 6 to relay them, while the inlet port of an air flow passage, consisting of the air ducts 6 and the plenum chamber is connected to a cold air main pipe and the outlet port of the same is connected to a hot air main pipe, a heat insulating member 9 is provided on the outside of an end plate 8 of the plenum chamber 7A positioned at a high-temperature side and an air cooling chamber 10, capable of circulating cold air between the outside of the same and through which the air ducts 6 are penetrated, is provided at the inside of the end plate 8. The air cooling chamber 10 is preferable to communicate with the cold air main pipe or the low-temperature side (plenum chamber 7B) of the air passage.
