To provide a sorting method by which plastics are recycled by sorting household refuse.

The method includes the processes of: sorting household refuse; separating ferrous metal; a process of sorting types of plastics by PE, PP, PS and PET using a near infrared sensor; sorting lightweight plastics by wind force; sorting aluminum cans or the like from lightweight plastics sorted in the wind force sorting process; crushing lightweight plastics; sorting the crushed lightweight plastics into PE, PP, a part of PS, PET and PVC by using specific gravity difference in a water tank; separately dehydrating the separated PE, PP, PS, PET, a part of PVC and the entire PVC; drying mixed plastics of dehydrated PE, PP, PS, PET, and PVC; and sorting the dried PE, PP, PS, PET and PVC by using an electrostatic sorting machine.
