To provide a reduced iron cooling apparatus and a reduced iron cooling method each capable of homogeneously cooling reduced iron based on a simple structure, needing no slide member from a constitutional standpoint, demanding a housing volume lesser than those of cooling apparatuses of the prior art, and capable of preventing the deterioration of the cooling performance.
The reduced iron cooling apparatus 1 of the present invention is a cooling apparatus for cooling reduced iron comprising a housing 2 having a loading port 2a so as to load therein reduced iron via the loading port 2a and multiple cooling pipelines 4 configured within the housing 2 so as to introduce therein cooling water. Each cooling pipeline 4 has a double-tube structure constituted by an inner tube 4a and an outer tube 4b, whereas cooling water is scheduled to be introduced into the interior of the inner tube 4a.
